Journal ArticleDOI
Noninvasive evaluation of pulmonary hypertension by a pulsed Doppler technique.
Akira Kitabatake,Michitoshi Inoue,Masato Asao,Tohru Masuyama,Jun Tanouchi,Takashi Morita,Masayoshi Mishima,Masaaki Uematsu,Takashi Shimazu,M Hori,Hiroshi Abe +10 more
TL;DR: A pulsed Doppler technique permitted the noninvasive estimation of the pulmonary artery pressure and the time to peak flow (acceleration time, AcT) and right ventricular ejection time (RVET) were measured from the flow velocity pattern.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adenovirus serotype 5 hexon mediates liver gene transfer
Simon N. Waddington,John H. McVey,David Bhella,Alan L. Parker,Kristeen Barker,Hideko Atoda,R. Pink,Suzanne M. K. Buckley,Jenny A. Greig,Laura Denby,Jerome Custers,Takashi Morita,Ivo M.B. Francischetti,Robson Q. Monteiro,Dan H. Barouch,Nico van Rooijen,Claudio Napoli,Claudio Napoli,Menzo J. E. Havenga,Stuart A. Nicklin,Andrew H. Baker +20 more
TL;DR: It is shown that FX binds to the Ad5 hexon, not fiber, via an interaction between the FX Gla domain and hypervariable regions of the hexon surface, which reveals an unanticipated function for hexon in mediating liver gene transfer in vivo.
Journal ArticleDOI
A novel Syk-dependent mechanism of platelet activation by the C-type lectin receptor CLEC-2
Katsue Suzuki-Inoue,Gemma L.J. Fuller,Ángel García,Johannes A. Eble,Stefan Pöhlmann,Osamu Inoue,T. Kent Gartner,Sascha Claire Hughan,Andrew C. Pearce,Gavin D. Laing,R. David G. Theakston,Edina Schweighoffer,Nicole Zitzmann,Takashi Morita,Victor L. J. Tybulewicz,Yukio Ozaki,Steve P. Watson +16 more
TL;DR: Findings define a novel signaling pathway in platelets whereby activation of CLEC-2 by rhodocytin leads to tyrosine phosphorylation of its cytosolic tail, binding of Syk and initiation of downstream tyrosination events, and activation of PLCgamma2.
Journal ArticleDOI
New fluorogenic substrates for .ALPHA.-thrombin, factor Xa, kallikreins, and urokinase.
Takashi Morita,Hisao Kato,Sadaaki Iwanaga,Katsumi Takada,Terutoshi Kimura,Shumpei Sakakibara +5 more
TL;DR: Twenty peptide-4-methylcoumarin amides (MCA) were newly synthesized and tested as possible substrates for alpha-thrombin, factor Xa, kallikreins, urokinase, and plasmin; these fluorogenic peptides contained arginine-MCA as the carboxyl-terminus.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structure and function of snake venom cysteine-rich secretory proteins.
Yasuo Yamazaki,Takashi Morita +1 more
TL;DR: This review discusses recent findings on several snake venom-derived CRISPs and reveals that they inhibit smooth muscle contraction and cyclic nucleotide-gated ion channels.
