Transurethral Prostate Resection, Noncontact Laser Therapy or Conservative Management in Men With Symptoms of Benign Prostatic Enlargement? An Economic Evaluation
Sian Noble,Joanna Coast,Sara T Brookes,David E. Neal,Paul Abrams,Tim J Peters,Jenny L Donovan +6 more
TL;DR: Transurethral prostate resection was more cost-effective than noncontact laser therapy in terms of symptomatic improvement and in men wishing to delay treatment conservative treatment appears to provide a cost- effective alternative in the short term.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cluster randomized trials: another problem for cost-effectiveness ratios.
Terry N. Flynn,Tim J Peters +1 more
TL;DR: Investigating under what conditions cost-effectiveness data from a cluster randomized trial (CRT) are suitable for analysis using a cluster-adjusted nonparametric bootstrap found evidence to suggest that, when the number of clusters per treatment arm exceeded 24, it might give acceptable results.
Journal ArticleDOI
The role of pragmatics in mediating the relationship between social disadvantage and adolescent behavior
TL;DR: Evidence is provided to suggest that there maybe a causal relationship between social disadvantage, behavior, and communication in childhood, suggesting that interventions targeting pragmatic skills have the potential to reduce adolescent behavioral symptoms.
Journal ArticleDOI
A prospective cohort and extended comprehensive-cohort design provided insights about the generalizability of a pragmatic trial: the ProtecT prostate cancer trial
Jenny L Donovan,Grace J. Young,Eleanor I Walsh,Chris Metcalfe,J A Lane,Richard M. Martin,Marta Tazewell,Michael Davis,Tim J Peters,Emma L Turner,Nicola Mills,Hanan Khazragui,Tarnjit K. Khera,David E. Neal,Freddie C. Hamdy +14 more
TL;DR: Design features built into the Prostate testing for cancer and Treatment (ProtecT) RCT of treatments for localized prostate cancer (PCa) provided insights into its generalizability.
