Individual Differences in Cognitive Plasticity and Variability as Predictors of Cognitive Function in Older Adults

TLDR
The ADNI-Mem was one of the measures best predicted by the CSF measures in MCI, and by Aß in AD as mentioned in this paper, and for MRI, ADNIMemwas competitivewith the ADAS-Cog.
Abstract
similar magnitude. In AD, HV was most strongly associated with ADNIMem. Conclusions: Our memory composite score detected rates of change better than other candidate summary scores. It was the strongest predictor of conversion fromMCI to AD. ADNI-Mem was one of the measures best predicted by the CSF measures in MCI, and by Aß in AD. For MRI, ADNIMemwas competitivewith the ADAS-Cog. ADNI-Memmay serve as a better benchmark for sample size comparisons.

“Mini-mental state”: A practical method for grading the cognitive state of patients for the clinician

TL;DR: A simplified, scored form of the cognitive mental status examination, the “Mini-Mental State” (MMS) which includes eleven questions, requires only 5-10 min to administer, and is therefore practical to use serially and routinely.

A practical method for grading the cognitive state of patients for the clinician

TL;DR: The Mini-Mental State (MMS) as mentioned in this paper is a simplified version of the standard WAIS with eleven questions and requires only 5-10 min to administer, and is therefore practical to use serially and routinely.

Applied Longitudinal Data Analysis

TL;DR: In this paper, a framework for investigating change over time is presented, where the multilevel model for change is introduced and a framework is presented for investigating event occurrence over time.

Statistical Power Analysis

TL;DR: The application of positron emis sion tomography (PEM) to the study of panic disorder was discussed in this paper, where a focal brain abnormal ity in panic disorder, a severe form of anxiety, was discussed.

More hippocampal neurons in adult mice living in an enriched environment

TL;DR: It is shown that significantly more new neurons exist in the dentate gyrus of mice exposed to an enriched environment compared with littermates housed in standard cages, and that the enriched mice have a larger hippocampal granule cell layer and 15 per cent moregranule cell neurons in the Dentate Gyrus.
