A conceptual framework for business-to-business e-contracting support is proposed that provides a complete view of the e- contracting concepts and is the basis for specifying the requirements of the contracting systems.Abstract:
Contracts are fundamental to the engagement of companies in commercial relations. B2B electronic contracting aims to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the contracting process and to provide new opportunities for the contracting parties. Virtual enterprises, for example, can be dynamically formed on the basis of e-contracts. For the implementation of e-contracting in practice, an integral understanding of the contracting field must be established. In this paper, we propose a conceptual framework for business-to-business e-contracting support. The framework provides a complete view of the e-contracting concepts and is the basis for specifying the requirements of the contracting systems. We use it to position research efforts in the e-contracting domain and to analyse them. Based on the framework, we discuss future research issues regarding e-contracting.read more

Transaction Costs and Information Systems: Does IT Add Up?
TL;DR: This paper argues that information-related problems represent only some of the elements contributing to transaction costs and that these costs also emerge due to the interdependencies among the various factors contributing to their growth.

A three-level framework for process and data management of complex e-services
TL;DR: This paper presents a three-level process and data specification framework for dynamic contract-based outsourcing of complex services, inspired by the well-known ANSI-SPARC model for data management, and focuses on services with an externally visible control flow, as opposed to simple, black-box web services.

An analysis of web services support for dynamic business process outsourcing
TL;DR: Web Services support for the dynamic process outsourcing paradigm is analyzed, observing that the framework requires further support for cross-organizational business processes and mechanisms for contracting, QoS management and transaction management, and suggests an approach to fill the gaps.
