Yoshino,H. Zohm +56 more
TL;DR: A review of recent advances in the area of MHD stability and disruptions, since the publication of the 1999 ITER Physics Basis document (1999 Nucl. Fusion 39 2137-2664), is reviewed in this paper.

Monier-Garbet,Rudolf Neu,H.D. Pacher,B. Pégourié,R.A. Pitts,Shuichi Takamura,J. L. Terry,E. Tsitrone +35 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the processes that will determine the properties of the plasma edge and its interaction with material elements in ITER and compare their predictions with the new experimental results.
Journal ArticleDOI
Edge radial electric field structure and its connections to H-mode confinement in Alcator C-Mod plasmas
R. M. McDermott,Bruce Lipschultz,Jerry Hughes,Peter J. Catto,A.E. Hubbard,Ian H. Hutchinson,Robert Granetz,Martin Greenwald,Brian LaBombard,Kenneth D. Marr,Matthew Reinke,J. E. Rice,D.G. Whyte,D. Alcator C-Mod Team +13 more
TL;DR: Marmar et al. as discussed by the authors used high-resolution charge exchange recombination spectroscopic measurements of B5+ ions for the first spatially resolved calculations of the radial electric field (Er) in the Alcator C-Mod pedestal region.
Journal ArticleDOI
Absorption of lower hybrid waves in the scrape off layer of a diverted tokamak
Gregory Wallace,R.R. Parker,P. T. Bonoli,A.E. Hubbard,J. W. Hughes,Brian LaBombard,Orso Meneghini,Andrea Schmidt,S. Shiraiwa,D.G. Whyte,John Wright,S.J. Wukitch,R. W. Harvey,Alexander Smirnov,James R. Wilson +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the lower hybrid current drive (LHCD) system on the Alcator C-Mod tokamak was investigated under plasma conditions relevant to future tokak experiments.
Journal ArticleDOI
Far SOL Transport and Main Wall Plasma Interaction in DIII-D
Dmitry Rudakov,J.A. Boedo,R.A. Moyer,P.C. Stangeby,J.G. Watkins,D.G. Whyte,Lei Zeng,N.H. Brooks,R.P. Doerner,Todd Evans,Max E. Fenstermacher,M. Groth,E. M. TL;DR: In this article, the authors showed that in H-mode between edge localized modes (ELMs) the plasma?wall contact is weaker than in L-mode. And they also showed that ELMs are responsible for 30?90% of the net ion flux to the outboard chamber wall.
