Smart electric vehicle (ev) charging and grid integration apparatus and methods
Rajit Gadh,Siddhartha Mal,Shivanand Prabhu,Chi-Cheng Chu,Jay Panchal,Omar Sheikh,Ching-Yen Chung,Lei He,Bingjun Xiao,Yiyu Shi +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an expert system manages a power grid wherein charging stations are connected to the power grid, with electric vehicles connected to charging stations, whereby the expert system selectively backfills power from connected electric vehicles to the grid through a grid tie inverter (if present) within the charging stations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Performance optimization of VLSI interconnect layout
TL;DR: A comprehensive survey of existing techniques for interconnect optimization during the VLSI physical design process, with emphasis on recent studies on interconnect design and optimization for high-performance V LSI circuit design under the deep submicron fabrication technologies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Temperature and supply Voltage aware performance and power modeling at microarchitecture level
Weiping Liao,Lei He,K. M. Lepak +2 more
TL;DR: A leakage power model with temperature and voltage scaling is presented, and it is demonstrated that without temperature-aware modeling, underestimation of leakage power may lead to the failure of thermal controls, and overestimation of leaking power may result in excessive performance penalties of up to 5.24%.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Robust extraction of spatial correlation
TL;DR: Applying mathematical theories from random fields and convex analysis, this work develops a robust technique to extract a valid spatial-correlation function and matrix from measurement data by solving a constrained nonlinear optimization problem and a modified alternative-projection algorithm.

The numerical manifold method: a review
Guowei Ma,Xinmei An,Lei He +2 more
TL;DR: In this article, a review on the numerical manifold method (NMM) is presented, which covers the basic theories of the NMM, such as NMM components, NMM displacement approximation, formulations of the discrete system of equations, integration scheme, imposition of the boundary conditions, treatment of contact problems involved in the nMM, and also the recent developments and applications of NMM.
