Journal ArticleDOI

Tumour suppression by the human von Hippel-Lindau gene product.

TL;DR: It is determined that the protein product of the VHL gene is an approximately 30 kilodalton cytoplasmic protein and that reintroduction of wild-type, but not mutant, VHL into these cells had no demonstrable effect on their growth in vitro but inhibited their ability to form tumours in nude mice.
Journal ArticleDOI

The human histone deacetylase family.

TL;DR: The results obtained suggest that the number of histone deacetylases within the human genome may be as high as 17 and are discussed in relation to their homology to the yeast hist one de acetylases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Circular RNAs: Biogenesis, Function and Role in Human Diseases.

TL;DR: It has been proposed that circRNA regulate gene expression at the transcriptional or post-transcriptional level by interacting with miRNAs and that circRNAs may have a role in regulating miRNA function in cancer initiation and progression.
Journal ArticleDOI

Generation and characterisation of cisplatin-resistant non-small cell lung cancer cell lines displaying a stem-like signature.

TL;DR: Characterisation studies demonstrated a decreased proliferative capacity of lung tumour cells in response to cisplatin, increased resistance to cisPlatin-induced cell death, accumulation of resistant cells in the G0/G1 phase of the cell cycle and enhanced clonogenic survival ability.
