TL;DR: The findings indicate that patients with hepatitis B experience various psychological reactions that need to be controlled and managed by themselves or healthcare providers.
Abstract: Introduction: Hepatitis B is the most prevalent type of viral hepatitis. Psychological
reactions among patients with hepatitis B infection is considerably
different and affects their decision about treating and following up the
disease. The present study aims at explaining the psychological demonstrations
experienced by these patients.
Methods: In this qualitative study, a total of 18 patients with
hepatitis B (8 women and 10 men) were selected by purposive sampling method.
Data were collected by unstructured in-depth interviews during 2014-2015 in the
medical centers of three cities in Iran. All interviews were recorded, typed and analyzed by the
conventional content analysis approach.
Results: By analyzing the data, the main theme including
psychological instability, with three sub-themes were emerged: grief reaction
(stupor, denial, anger and aggression), emotional challenges (worry and
apprehension, contradiction with beliefs, fear of deprivation, fear of stigma,
waiting for death and prognosis ambiguity) and inferiority complex (social
withdrawal, sense of humiliation and embarrassment and sense of guilt and blame)
were acquired.
Conclusion: The findings indicate that patients with hepatitis
B experience various
psychological reactions that need to be controlled and managed by themselves or
healthcare providers. Thus, implementation of
health interventions with emphasis on psychological care to prevent problems
and execution of educational and consultation programs about hepatitis
especially by medical centers and mass media is seems necessary.

TL;DR: The findings indicate that consumption of green tea for two months by with the improvement of antioxidant system exerts beneficial effect on cognitive function.
Abstract: Background:
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most prevalent degenerative disorder of the brain among elderly individuals. Many studies indicate that oxidative stress is an important pathogenic factor which involves oxidizing macromolecules such as DNA, lipids, and proteins in AD. Green tea is a rich source of antioxidant compounds that can remove radical oxygen species. The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of green tea consumption on markers of oxidative stress in AD.

TL;DR: The results showed that in encountering the complexity of disease and in response to difficulties induced by COPD, three strategies were applied and the outcome was “co-existence with disease.”
Abstract: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a serious health problem that has significant effects on the life status of elderly persons. Use of the empowerment approach is necessary for health promotion in older people with COPD, but little attention has so far been paid to all the dimensions of empowerment in the management of COPD, which would provide useful knowledge regarding elders with COPD. This article reports on a study exploring people's experiences of the empowerment of older people with COPD. This study adopted an exploratory qualitative design and was carried out using grounded theory methodology. Grounded theory was considered appropriate for this study because of its focus on how people respond to and act on the problems that they encounter. We collected data by conducting in-depth semi-structured interviews and taking field notes. Twenty-four participants were selected through purposive sampling. The results showed that in encountering the complexity of disease and in response to difficulties induced by COPD, three strategies were applied. Elderly persons with COPD, their family caregivers, and professional team members engaged in "managing life with COPD," "striving to keep abreast of life," "preparing for battle with disease," and "helping to stabilize the elder's life." The outcome of these strategies was "co-existence with disease." The potential of "managing life with COPD" was influenced by the following factors: "co-existence with ageing," "personal potential," "a challenged health system," and "weak social support." "Managing life with COPD" enables the elder to feel in control and live optimally. This is a fragile balance, however, and the unpredictability of COPD can tip the elder into "self-efficacy." Understanding the experiences of the empowerment process of older people with COPD can help health professionals provide more focused elderly care.

TL;DR: The management of a massive CGCG in a 13-year-old girl with its non-surgical and surgical treatments was difficult and unsuccessful and at 2-year follow-up showed no recurrence of the lesion.
Abstract: Central Giant Cell Granuloma (CGCG) is a benign tumour of the jaws. The site most frequently involved is the anterior part of mandible, especially in females under 30 years of age. The traditional treatment of CGCG is curettage. Resection is indicated in locally aggressive cases. This report presents the management of a massive CGCG in a 13-year-old girl with its non-surgical and surgical treatments. The non-surgical treatment with corticosteroid therapy was difficult and unsuccessful. Surgical treatment was performed successfully and at 2-year follow-up showed no recurrence of the lesion.
