Endovascular thrombectomy after large-vessel ischaemic stroke: a meta-analysis of individual patient data from five randomised trials

TL;DR: Endovascular thrombectomy is of benefit to most patients with acute ischaemic stroke caused by occlusion of the proximal anterior circulation, irrespective of patient characteristics or geographical location, and will have global implications on structuring systems of care to provide timely treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Low Rates of Acute Recanalization With Intravenous Recombinant Tissue Plasminogen Activator in Ischemic Stroke. Real-World Experience and a Call for Action

TL;DR: A low rate of acute recanalization was observed with IV rt-PA in proximal vessel occlusions identified by baseline CT angiogram and was the strongest predictor of good outcome.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multiphase CT Angiography: A New Tool for the Imaging Triage of Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke

TL;DR: Multiphase CT angiography is a reliable tool for imaging selection in patients with acute ischemic stroke and its interrater reliability and ability to help determine clinical outcome are demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Efficacy and safety of nerinetide for the treatment of acute ischaemic stroke (ESCAPE-NA1): a multicentre, double-blind, randomised controlled trial.

Michael D. Hill, +776 more
- 14 Mar 2020 -
TL;DR: Nerinetide did not improve the proportion of patients achieving good clinical outcomes after endovascular thrombectomy compared with patients receiving placebo, and this trial is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT02930018.
