PD-L1 Expression in Triple-Negative Breast Cancer
Elizabeth A. Mittendorf,Anne V. Philips,Funda Meric-Bernstam,Na Qiao,Yun Wu,Susan M. Harrington,Xiaoping Su,Ying Wang,Ana M. Gonzalez-Angulo,Argun Akcakanat,Akhil Chawla,Michael Curran,Patrick Hwu,Padmanee Sharma,Jennifer K. Litton,Jeffrey J. Molldrem,Gheath Alatrash +16 more
TL;DR: Using tissue microarrays containing 105 triple-negative breast cancer specimens, Mittendorf and colleagues show that 20% of the TNBC specimens express PD-L1, half have lost PTEN, and inhibitors of PI3K pathway decrease PD- l1 expression, providing a rationale for therapeutic targeting of PD- L1 for TNBC.
Journal ArticleDOI
An inhibitor of oxidative phosphorylation exploits cancer vulnerability.
Jennifer R. Molina,Yuting Sun,Marina Protopopova,Sonal Gera,Madhavi Bandi,Christopher A. Bristow,Timothy McAfoos,Pietro Morlacchi,Pietro Morlacchi,Jeffrey J. Ackroyd,Ahmed Noor A. Agip,Gheath Alatrash,John M. Asara,Jennifer Bardenhagen,Caroline C. Carrillo,Christopher Carroll,Edward F. Chang,Stefan O. Ciurea,Cross Jason,Barbara Czako,Angela K. Deem,Naval Daver,John de Groot,Jian Wen Dong,Ningping Feng,Guang Gao,Mary Geck Do,Jennifer Greer,Virginia Giuliani,Jing Han,Lina Han,Verlene Henry,Judy Hirst,Sha Huang,Yongying Jiang,Zhijun Kang,Tin Oo Khor,Sergej Konoplev,Yu Hsi Lin,Gang Liu,Alessia Lodi,Timothy Lofton,Helen Ma,Mikhila Mahendra,Polina Matre,Robert A. Mullinax,Michael Peoples,Alessia Petrocchi,Jaime Rodriguez-Canale,Riccardo Serreli,Thomas Shi,Melinda Smith,Yoko Tabe,Yoko Tabe,Jay Theroff,Stefano Tiziani,Quanyun Xu,Qi Zhang,Florian L. Muller,Ronald A. DePinho,Carlo Toniatti,Giulio Draetta,Timothy P. Heffernan,Marina Konopleva,Philip Jones,M. Emilia Di Francesco,Joseph R. Marszalek +66 more
TL;DR: Treatment with IACS-010759 robustly inhibited proliferation and induced apoptosis in models of brain cancer and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) reliant on OXPHOS, likely owing to a combination of energy depletion and reduced aspartate production that leads to impaired nucleotide biosynthesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Improved Early Outcomes Using a T Cell Replete Graft Compared with T Cell Depleted Haploidentical Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation
Stefan O. Ciurea,Victor E. Mulanovich,Rima M. Saliba,Ulas D. Bayraktar,Ying Jiang,Roland L. Bassett,Sa Wang,Marina Konopleva,Marcelo Fernandez-Vina,Nivia Montes,Doyle Bosque,Julianne Chen,Gabriela Rondon,Gheath Alatrash,Amin M. Alousi,Qaiser Bashir,Martin Korbling,Muzaffar H. Qazilbash,Simrit Parmar,Elizabeth J. Shpall,Yago Nieto,Chitra Hosing,Partow Kebriaei,Issa F. Khouri,Uday R. Popat,Marcos de Lima,Richard E. Champlin +26 more
TL;DR: Improved reconstitution of T cell subsets and a lower rate of infection were observed in the TCR group, indicating that a TCR graft followed by effective control of GVHD posttransplantation may lower NRM and improve survival after haploidentical SCT.
Journal ArticleDOI
Similar transplantation outcomes for acute myeloid leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome patients with haploidentical versus 10/10 human leukocyte antigen-matched unrelated and related donors.
Antonio Di Stasi,Denái R. Milton,LM Poon,Amir Hamdi,Gabriela Rondon,Julianne Chen,Sai Ravi Pingali,Marina Konopleva,Piyanuch Kongtim,Amin M. Alousi,Muzaffar H. Qazilbash,Sairah Ahmed,Qaiser Bashir,Gheath Alatrash,Betul Oran,Chitra Hosing,Partow Kebriaei,Uday R. Popat,Elizabeth J. Shpall,Dean A. Lee,Marcos de Lima,Katayoun Rezvani,Issa F. Khouri,Richard E. Champlin,Stefan O. Ciurea +24 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that haploidentical donors can safely extend transplantation for AML/MDS patients without an HLA-matched donor, and prospective studies comparing haploIDENTical and MUD transplantation are warranted.
Journal ArticleDOI
The distribution of T-cell subsets and the expression of immune checkpoint receptors and ligands in patients with newly diagnosed and relapsed acute myeloid leukemia
Patrick Williams,Sreyashi Basu,Guillermo Garcia-Manero,Christopher S. Hourigan,Karolyn A. Oetjen,Jorge E. Cortes,Farhad Ravandi,Elias Jabbour,Zainab Al-Hamal,Marina Konopleva,Jing Ning,Lianchun Xiao,Juliana E. Hidalgo Lopez,Steve Kornblau,Michael Andreeff,Wilmer Flores,Carlos E. Bueso-Ramos,Jorge Blando,Pallavi Galera,Katherine R. Calvo,Gheath Alatrash,James P. Allison,Hagop M. Kantarjian,Padmanee Sharma,Naval Daver +24 more
TL;DR: Phenotypic characterization of immune cells in the bone marrow of patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is lacking and the need for further studies is unclear.
