Journal ArticleDOI

Hematologic parameters in patients with COVID-19 infection.

TL;DR: A detailed analysis of the hematological parameters of the COVID-19 patients at the NCID revealed that a higher number of patients (69%) who were lymphopenic had the presence of a few reactive lymphocytes, of which a subset appeared lymphoplasmacytoid, which contrasts with the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) outbreak in 2003 where reactive lymph cells were not observed in a study on Haematologic parameters.
Journal ArticleDOI

Establishment of adult peripheral blood lymphocyte subset reference range for an Asian population by single-platform flow cytometry: influence of age, sex, and race and comparison with other published studies.

TL;DR: A normal reference range for peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets in a multiracial adult population is established by using single-platform flow cytometry and it is shown that the CD8+-cell counts decrease with age, there is a gender difference in NK cell percentages and counts, and there are significant differences in the CD3+-, CD4+-, and CD19+- cell counts between Indians and other racial groups.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis on T-cell activation and proliferation in patients with and without HIV co-infection.

TL;DR: It is indicated that TB (in the absence of HIV) increases T-lymphocyte proliferation but its effects are modest in comparison with the stimulation induced by HIV infection alone.
