TL;DR: A multivariate analytic approach that optimizes sensitivity and reduces unnecessary testing is introduced and is demonstrated by identifying the effects of age and gender on the resting-state networks of 603 healthy adolescents and adults.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Impact of HIV-Associated Neuropsychological Impairment on Everyday Functioning
Robert K. Heaton,Thomas D. Marcotte,Monica Rivera Mindt,Joseph Sadek,David J. Moore,Heather Bentley,J. Allen McCutchan,Carla Reicks,Igor Grant +8 more
TL;DR: Objective, laboratory based functional measures, such as those used here, may compliment NP testing in future studies directed at understanding the impact on life quality of central nervous system disorders and their treatments.
Journal ArticleDOI

Jane S. Paulsen,Robert K. Heaton,Joseph Sadek,William Perry,Dean C. Delis,David L. Braff,Julie Kuck,Sidney Zisook,Dilip V. Jeste +8 more
TL;DR: Results suggest that most SC patients demonstrate a pattern of learning and memory impairments that resembles the pattern seen in patients with primary subcortical (specifically striatal) pathology.
Journal ArticleDOI
Left and right basal ganglia and frontal activity during language generation: Contributions to lexical, semantic, and phonological processes
Bruce Crosson,Hope Benefield,M. Allison Cato,Joseph Sadek,Anna Bacon Moore,Christina E. Wierenga,Kaundinya S. Gopinath,David A. Soltysik,Russell M. Bauer,Edward J. Auerbach,Didem Gokcay,Christiana M. Leonard,Richard W. Briggs +12 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that the right basal ganglia activity serves to suppress right frontal activity, preventing right frontal structures from interfering with language production.
