Journal ArticleDOI

MYB transcription factor genes as regulators for plant responses: an overview

TL;DR: MYB TFs are reviewed with particular emphasis on their role in controlling different biological processes to provide valuable insights in understanding regulatory networks and associated functions to develop strategies for crop improvement.
Journal ArticleDOI

QTL mapping of pearl millet rust resistance using an integrated DArT- and SSR-based linkage map

TL;DR: The development of a linkage map integrating Diversity Arrays Technology (DArT) markers and simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers, using this to identify quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for pearl millet rust resistance, provides a framework for marker-assisted selection and possible future map-based cloning of this resistance gene.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stage specific comparative transcriptomic analysis to reveal gene networks regulating iron and zinc content in pearl millet [Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br.]

TL;DR: In this paper , a study was conducted to identify and validate candidate genes governing grain iron and zinc content enabling the desired modifications in the genotypes, which is an important staple food crop of poor people and excels all other cereals due to its unique features of resilience to adverse climatic conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Performance of pearl millet genotypes under drought and terminal stress condition for their suitability under arid and semi arid regions

TL;DR: In this article , the suitability of genotypes was identified on the basis of physiological parameters like drought tolerance index (DSI), drought tolerance efficiency (DTE), grain reduction percentage (GRP), threshing percentage (TP) and harvest index (HI) in addition to 50% flowering, productive tillers, grain yield, stove yield, days to maturity.
