The LHCb detector at the LHC

A. A. Alves, +889 more
TL;DR: The LHCb experiment is dedicated to precision measurements of CP violation and rare decays of B hadrons at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN (Geneva).
Journal ArticleDOI

The beam and detector of the NA62 experiment at CERN

E. Cortina Gil, +294 more
TL;DR: NA62 as mentioned in this paper is a fixed-target experiment at the CERN SPS dedicated to measurements of rare kaon decays, such as the branching fraction of the K+ → π+ ν bar nu decay, which can bring significant insights into new physics processes when comparison is made with precise theoretical predictions.
Journal ArticleDOI

IOP : Mirror system of the RICH detector of the NA62 experiment

TL;DR: In this paper, the characterization of the mirrors before installation and the mirror support system are described, as well as the mirror installation procedure and the laser alignment are also illustrated, where the authors show how to align 20 spherical mirrors with 17 m focal length to suppress the muon contamination in the charged pion selection.
Journal ArticleDOI

Status of the NA62 ring imaging Cherenkov detector

TL;DR: The ring imaging Cherenkov detector of the NA62 experiment at the CERN SPS is a key element of particle identification in the NA 62 experimental strategy as mentioned in this paper, which fulfills different conditions: to distinguish pions from muons with a muon rejection factor of O(10 2 ) in the NE momentum range of operation, between 15 and 35 GeV/c.
