The LHCb detector at the LHC

A. A. Alves, +889 more
TL;DR: The LHCb experiment is dedicated to precision measurements of CP violation and rare decays of B hadrons at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN (Geneva).
Journal ArticleDOI

ANTARES: the first undersea neutrino telescope

M. Ageron, +287 more
TL;DR: The ANTARES Neutrino Telescope was completed in May 2008 and is the first operational neutrino telescope in the Mediterranean Sea as mentioned in this paper, where the main purpose of the detector is to perform neutrinos astronomy and the apparatus also offers facilities for marine and Earth sciences.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of three types of XPAD3.2/CdTe single chip hybrids for hard X-ray applications in material science and biomedical imaging

TL;DR: The CHiPSpeCT consortium aims at building a large multi-modules CdTe-based photon counting detector for hard X-ray applications as mentioned in this paper, where the authors tested nine XPAD3.2 single chip hybrids in various configurations (i.e. Ohmic vs Schottky contacts or electrons vs. holes collection mode) in order to select the most performing and best suited configuration for their experimental requirements.

Development of a PCI Express Based Readout Electronics for the XPAD3 X-Ray Photon Counting Image

TL;DR: The XPAD3 is a large surface X-ray photon counting imager with high count rates, large counter dynamics and very fast data readout as discussed by the authors, which uses a PCI Express interface using DMA transfer.
