The LHCb detector at the LHC

A. A. Alves, +889 more
TL;DR: The LHCb experiment is dedicated to precision measurements of CP violation and rare decays of B hadrons at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN (Geneva).
Journal ArticleDOI

The Physics of the B Factories

Adrian John Bevan, +2064 more
TL;DR: The physics of the SLAC and KEK B Factories are described in this paper, with a brief description of the detectors, BaBar and Belle, and data taking related issues.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chemical interactions with snow: understanding the behavior and fate of semi-volatile organic compounds in snow.

TL;DR: Evidence is provided that suggests that those SVOCs that possess relatively higher snow interfacial/air partitioning coefficients (K(iasnow)) or lower Henry's Law constants may be more efficiently retained in snow, with implications for the occurrence of currently used pesticides in the temperate mountain snowpack.
Journal ArticleDOI

POPs in Mountain Soils from the Alps and Andes: Suggestions for a ‘Precipitation Effect’ on Altitudinal Gradients

TL;DR: In this paper, two transects were carried out in the Peruvian Andes (Cordillera Blanca) and the other in the Italian Alps (Mount Legnone).
Journal ArticleDOI

Rapid changes in PCB and OC pesticide concentrations in arctic snow.

TL;DR: The short-term fate of polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) and organochlorine (OC) pesticides in the surface snowpack was investigated by taking consecutive air and snow samples at Tromsø in the Norwegian Arctic, suggesting that re-emission of desorbed chemical from the interstitial pore spaces to the overlying atmosphere may be complicated by this process.
