Organic Agriculture 3.0 is innovation with research

TL;DR: The contribution of organic agriculture to solve current problems linked to food security and environmental quality was discussed during the International Society of Organic Agricultural Research (ISOFAR) Symposium “Organic 3.0 is Innovation with Research”, held September 20-22, 2015, in conjunction with the first ISOFAR International Organic Expo, in Goesan County, Republic of Korea as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of organic and conventional stockless arable systems: A multidisciplinary approach to soil quality evaluation

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of organic and conventional management systems were evaluated by using soil chemical, biochemical and biological parameters, and the overall results demonstrated that even in the short-term, the implementation of organically managed stockless systems in Mediterranean areas determined significant changes of some attributes for soil quality evaluation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thermal analysis in the evaluation of compost stability : a comparison with humification parameters

TL;DR: In this paper, the degree of humification (DH%) and index of HHI were calculated after extraction, fractionation and analysis of the organic carbon from composts, and differential scanning calcimetry and thermogravimetry were simultaneously performed in oxidizing conditions on whole ground composts.
Journal ArticleDOI

Conservation tillage strategy based on the roller crimper technology for weed control in Mediterranean vegetable organic cropping systems

TL;DR: In this paper, a two-year field experiment was carried out at the MOVE (MOnsampolo VEgetables) organic long-term experiment, Monsampolo del Tronto, Central Italy, growing transplanted zucchini (Cucurbita pepo L.) to compare the effect of different tillage strategies and cover crop management (no cover crop; green manured barley; in-line till/roller crimped barley).
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of long term addition of composts and poultry manure on soil quality of citrus orchards in Southern Italy

TL;DR: It was concluded that composts and poultry manure only weakly affected soil properties, though they increased soil potentially available nutritive elements to crops, while no differences were observed in biodiversity indexes.
