Observation of a new particle in the search for the Standard Model Higgs boson with the ATLAS detector at the LHC

Georges Aad, +2967 more
- 17 Sep 2012 -
TL;DR: In this article, a search for the Standard Model Higgs boson in proton-proton collisions with the ATLAS detector at the LHC is presented, which has a significance of 5.9 standard deviations, corresponding to a background fluctuation probability of 1.7×10−9.

The ATLAS Experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider

Georges Aad, +3032 more
TL;DR: The ATLAS detector as installed in its experimental cavern at point 1 at CERN is described in this paper, where a brief overview of the expected performance of the detector when the Large Hadron Collider begins operation is also presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

ggtree: an R package for visualization and annotation of phylogenetic trees with their covariates and other associated data

TL;DR: An r package, ggtree, which provides programmable visualization and annotation of phylogenetic trees, which can read more tree file formats than other softwares, and support visualization of phylo, multiphylo, phylo4, phyla4d, obkdata and phyloseq tree objects defined in other r packages.
Journal ArticleDOI

Performance of the ALICE experiment at the CERN LHC

Betty Abelev, +943 more
TL;DR: The ALICE experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider as mentioned in this paper continuously took data during the first physics campaign of the machine from fall 2009 until early 2013, using proton and lead-ion beams.
