Journal ArticleDOI
Imaging brain amyloid in Alzheimer's disease with Pittsburgh Compound-B.
William E. Klunk,Henry Engler,Agneta Nordberg,Yanming Wang,G. Blomqvist,Daniel P. Holt,Mats Bergström,Irina Savitcheva,Guo Feng Huang,Sergio Estrada,Birgitta Ausén,Manik L. Debnath,Julien Barletta,Julie C. Price,Johan Sandell,Brian J. Lopresti,Anders Wall,Pernilla Koivisto,Gunnar Antoni,Chester A. Mathis,Bengt Långström +20 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that PET imaging with the novel tracer, PIB, can provide quantitative information on amyloid deposits in living subjects.
Journal ArticleDOI
Correction for Scattered Radiation in a Ring Detector Positron Camera by Integral Transformation of the Projections
TL;DR: A “deconvolution” algorithm for the determination of the scatter contribution in positron emission tomography is described and the level of scattered radiation can be reduced from 25 to 1% of the total count rate in the center of the projection from a homogeneous phantom.
Journal ArticleDOI
Head fixation device for reproducible position alignment in transmission CT and positron emission tomography.
TL;DR: A head-positioning device allowing accurate position transference between computed tomography and positron emission tomography is described, and the coordinates of an anatomic structure may be determined and transferred between the two images.
Journal ArticleDOI
Increased dopamine synthesis rate in medial prefrontal cortex and striatum in schizophrenia indicated by L-(β-11C) DOPA and PET
Leif Lindström,O. Gefvert,Gisela E. Hagberg,T. Lundberg,Mats Bergström,Per Hartvig,Bengt Långström +6 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that the synthesis of dopamine is elevated within the striatum and parts of medial prefrontal cortex in schizophrenia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Whole-Body 11C-5-Hydroxytryptophan Positron Emission Tomography as a Universal Imaging Technique for Neuroendocrine Tumors : Comparison with Somatostatin Receptor Scintigraphy and Computed Tomography
Håkan Örlefors,Anders Sundin,Ulrike Garske,Claes Juhlin,Kjell Öberg,Britt Skogseid,Bengt Långström,Mats Bergström,Barbro Eriksson +8 more
TL;DR: It is shown that WB-(11)C-5-HTP-PET is sensitive in imaging small NET lesions, such as primary tumors, and can in a majority of cases image significantly more tumor lesions than SRS and CT.
