Journal ArticleDOI
Imaging brain amyloid in Alzheimer's disease with Pittsburgh Compound-B.
William E. Klunk,Henry Engler,Agneta Nordberg,Yanming Wang,G. Blomqvist,Daniel P. Holt,Mats Bergström,Irina Savitcheva,Guo Feng Huang,Sergio Estrada,Birgitta Ausén,Manik L. Debnath,Julien Barletta,Julie C. Price,Johan Sandell,Brian J. Lopresti,Anders Wall,Pernilla Koivisto,Gunnar Antoni,Chester A. Mathis,Bengt Långström +20 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that PET imaging with the novel tracer, PIB, can provide quantitative information on amyloid deposits in living subjects.
Journal ArticleDOI
In Vivo Visualization of Amyloid Deposits in the Heart with 11C-PIB and PET
Gunnar Antoni,Mark Lubberink,Mark Lubberink,Sergio Estrada,Jan Axelsson,Kristina Carlson,Lars Lindsjö,Tanja Kero,Tanja Kero,Bengt Långström,Sven-Olof Granstam,Sara Rosengren,Ola Vedin,Cecilia Wassberg,Cecilia Wassberg,Gerhard Wikström,Per Westermark,Jens Ahm Sørensen +17 more
TL;DR: 11C-PIB and PET could be a method to study systemic amyloidosis of type AL and ATTR affecting the heart and should be investigated further both as a diagnostic tool and as a noninvasive method for treatment follow-up.
Journal ArticleDOI
Positron emission tomography : A real-time tool to quantify early islet engraftment in a preclinical large animal model
Torsten Eich,Olof Eriksson,Anders Sundin,Sergio Estrada,Daniel Brandhorst,Heide Brandhorst,Bengt Långström,Bo Nilsson,Olle Korsgren,Torbjörn Lundgren +9 more
TL;DR: The presented technique shows promise to become a powerful and quantitative tool, readily available in the clinic, to evaluate initial islet engraftment and survival of transplanted islets in the peritransplant and early posttransplant phase.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biodistribution of 68Ga-labelled phosphodiester, phosphorothioate, and 2'-O-methyl phosphodiester oligonucleotides in normal rats.
Gabor Lendvai,Irina Velikyan,Mats Bergström,Sergio Estrada,Daniel Laryea,Maria Välilä,Maria Välilä,Satu Salomäki,Satu Salomäki,Bengt Långström,Anne Roivainen +10 more
TL;DR: This study supplies a base for the further development of 68Ga-labelled oligonucleotides as pharmacokinetic tools and a potential future use for in vivo imaging of gene expression.
Journal ArticleDOI
Unidirectional Influx and Net Accumulation of PIB.
Gunnar Blomquist,Henry Engler,Agneta Nordberg,Anna Ringheim,Anders Wall,Anton Forsberg,Sergio Estrada,Pernilla Frändberg,Gunnar Antoni,Bengt Långström +9 more
TL;DR: The benefit of measuring the PIB accumulation rate together with the unidirectional influx of PIB into the brain was investigated in healthy control subjects and patients with AD, and K1 did not correlate with the accumulation rate, indicating that K1 for PIB provides extra information besides the accumulation rates.
