The ALICE experiment at the CERN LHC

K. Aamodt, +1154 more
TL;DR: The Large Ion Collider Experiment (ALICE) as discussed by the authors is a general-purpose, heavy-ion detector at the CERN LHC which focuses on QCD, the strong-interaction sector of the Standard Model.

Conceptual design of the Muon Forward Tracker of the ALICE experiment

TL;DR: In this paper, the Muon Forward Tracker (MFT) is proposed to overcome the intrinsic limitations of the present Muon Spectrometer, almost blind to the details of the vertex region because of the Hadronic Absorber thickness, and perform new measurements of general interest for the whole ALICE physics.
