Journal ArticleDOI

Immuno-localization of H+/peptide cotransporter in rat digestive tract.

TL;DR: Observations show that PepT1 is specific to the brush border of the differentiated absorptive epithelial cells and suggest that H+-coupled uptake of small peptides and peptide-like drugs occurs at the apical membrane of these cells in the small intestine.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lung carcinogenesis and formation of 8-hydroxy-deoxyguanosine in mice by diesel exhaust particles.

TL;DR: The results suggest that the induction of oxidative DNA damage may be an important factor in the initiation of DEP-induced lung carcinogenesis, and that beta-carotene and high dietary fat may play a role in the regulation of tumour development via modulation of the formation of 8-OHdG.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genetic analysis of obese diabetes in the TSOD mouse.

TL;DR: It is indicated that hyperglycemia and obesity are clearly controlled by distinct combinations of genetic loci in this mouse model and provides insights into the genetic basis of common forms of human type 2 diabetes with obesity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Peptide transporter in the rat small intestine: ultrastructural localization and the effect of starvation and administration of amino acids.

TL;DR: Observations show that peptide transporter-1 is specific to the microvillous plasma membrane and that its expression is regulated by the nutritional condition.
