TL;DR: The results reveal the significant accuracy of IBI-WAV forecasts and prove that a combined observational and modeling approach can provide a comprehensive characterization of severe wave conditions in coastal areas and shows the benefits from the complementary nature of both systems.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed the effect of wind and wave fields, concurrent with anomalous high sea-level values on the coast and infrastructures at the Catalan-Balearic Sea due to Storm Gloria, generated January 17th, 2020 in the Eastern North Atlantic, crossed the Iberian Peninsula and impacted the Western Mediterranean during the following days.
