Experimental Realization of an Intrinsic Magnetic Topological Insulator

TL;DR: In this paper, the experimental realization of thin films of an intrinsic magnetic topological insulator, MnBi 2 Te 4, by alternate growth of a Bi 2 Te 3 quintuple layer and a MnTe bilayer with molecular beam epitaxy was reported.

Electronic origin of high-temperature superconductivity in single-layer FeSe

TL;DR: In this article, the electronic structure and superconducting gap of a single-layer FeSe superconductor were investigated, and it was shown that such a simple electronic structure is compatible with high-T(c) superconductivity in iron-based superconductors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Suppression of superconductivity by twin boundaries in FeSe.

TL;DR: In this article, low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy are employed to investigate twin boundaries in stoichiometric FeSe films grown by molecular beam epitaxy, which are unambiguously identified by imaging the 90° change in the orientation of local electronic dimers from Fe site impurities on either side.
Journal ArticleDOI

Topological p - n junction

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors consider a junction between surface p and surface n on an ideal topological insulator in which carrier type and density in two adjacent regions are locally controlled by composition graded doping or electrical gating.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental realization of an intrinsic magnetic topological insulator

TL;DR: In this article, the experimental realization of high-quality thin films of an intrinsic magnetic topological insulator (TI) by alternate growth of a Bi$_2$Te$_3$ quintuple-layer and a MnTe bilayer with molecular beam epitaxy was reported.
