Kinzler,Bert Vogelstein,Nickolas Papadopoulos,Luis A. Diaz,Luis A. Diaz +69 more
TL;DR: The ability of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) to detect tumors in 640 patients with various cancer types was evaluated and suggested that ctDNA is a broadly applicable, sensitive, and specific biomarker that can be used for a variety of clinical and research purposes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Altered Telomeres in Tumors with ATRX and DAXX Mutations
Christopher M. Heaphy,Roeland F. de Wilde,Yuchen Jiao,Alison P. Klein,Barish H. Edil,Chanjuan Shi,Chetan Bettegowda,Fausto J. Rodriguez,Charles G. Eberhart,Sachidanand Hebbar,G. Johan A. Offerhaus,Roger E. McLendon,B.K. Ahmed Rasheed,Yiping He,Hai Yan,Darell D. Bigner,Sueli Mieko Oba-Shinjo,Suely Kazue Nagahashi Marie,Gregory J. Riggins,Kenneth W. Kinzler,Bert Vogelstein,Ralph H. Hruban,Anirban Maitra,Nickolas Papadopoulos,Alan K. Meeker +24 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that an alternative telomere maintenance function may operate in human tumors with alterations in the ATRX or DAXX genes, which are common in human pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Frequent ATRX, CIC, FUBP1 and IDH1 mutations refine the classification of malignant gliomas.
Yuchen Jiao,Patrick J. Killela,Zachary J. Reitman,B.K. Ahmed Rasheed,Christopher M. Heaphy,Roeland F. de Wilde,Fausto J. Rodriguez,Sergio Rosemberg,Sueli Mieko Oba-Shinjo,Suely Kazue Nagahashi Marie,Chetan Bettegowda,Nishant Agrawal,Eric S. Lipp,Christopher J. Pirozzi,Giselle Y. Lopez,Yiping He,Henry S. Diaz,Hai-Jing Yan +28 more
TL;DR: The genetic signatures distinguished clinically distinct groups of oligoastrocytoma patients, which usually present a diagnostic challenge, and were associated with differences in clinical outcome even among individual tumor types.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transcriptomic analysis of purified human cortical microglia reveals age-associated changes
Thais F. Galatro,Thais F. Galatro,Inge R. Holtman,Antonio M. Lerario,Ilia D. Vainchtein,Nieske Brouwer,Paula R. Sola,Mariana Matera Veras,Tulio Felipe Pereira,Renata Elaine Paraizo Leite,Thomas Möller,Paul D. Wes,Mari Cleide Sogayar,Jon D. Laman,Wilfred F. A. den Dunnen,Carlos Augusto Pasqualucci,Sueli Mieko Oba-Shinjo,Erik Boddeke,Suely Kazue Nagahashi Marie,Bart J. L. Eggen +19 more
TL;DR: Age-associated changes in human microglia were enriched for genes involved in cell adhesion, axonal guidance, cell surface receptor expression and actin (dis)assembly, indicating that human and mouse microglian age differently.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mutations in CIC and FUBP1 Contribute to Human Oligodendroglioma
Chetan Bettegowda,Nishant Agrawal,Yuchen Jiao,Mark Sausen,Laura D. Wood,Ralph H. Hruban,Fausto J. Rodriguez,Daniel P. Cahill,Roger E. McLendon,Gregory J. Riggins,Victor E. Velculescu,Sueli Mieko Oba-Shinjo,Suely Kazue Nagahashi Marie,Bert Vogelstein,Darell D. Bigner,Hai Yan,Nickolas Papadopoulos,Kenneth W. Kinzler +17 more
TL;DR: Exomic sequencing of seven oligodendrogliomas revealed 12 and 3 more tumors with mutations of CIC and FUBP1, respectively, 58% of which were predicted to result in truncations of the encoded proteins, suggesting a critical role for these genes in the biology and pathology of oligodendedrocytes.
