TL;DR: The ability of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) to detect tumors in 640 patients with various cancer types was evaluated and suggested that ctDNA is a broadly applicable, sensitive, and specific biomarker that can be used for a variety of clinical and research purposes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic Potential of Circulating Tumor DNA Measurement in Postoperative Surveillance of Nonmetastatic Colorectal Cancer.
Yuxuan Wang,Lu Li,Joshua D. Cohen,Isaac Kinde,Janine Ptak,Maria Popoli,Joy Schaefer,Natalie Silliman,Lisa Dobbyn,Jeanne Tie,Peter Gibbs,Peter Gibbs,Cristian Tomasetti,Cristian Tomasetti,Kenneth W. Kinzler,Nickolas Papadopoulos,Bert Vogelstein,Bert Vogelstein,Louise Olsson +18 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that ctDNA analysis could complement conventional surveillance strategies as a triage test to stratify patients with resected CRC on the basis of risk of disease recurrence.
Journal ArticleDOI
Association studies on 11 published colorectal cancer risk loci
S. von Holst,Simone Picelli,David Edler,Claes Lenander,Johan Dalén,Fredrik Hjern,Nils Lundqvist,U. Farrington,Susan M. Farrington,Harry Campbell,Harry Campbell,Malcolm G. Dunlop,Malcolm G. Dunlop,Annika Lindblom +26 more
TL;DR: This study tests 11 loci reported to be associated with an increased or decreased risk of colorectal cancer and supports most genetic variants published in GWAS, using a Swedish population.
Journal ArticleDOI
Screening for biomarkers in plasma from patients with gangrenous and phlegmonous appendicitis using CE and CEC in combination with MS.
Nina Johannesson,Louise Olsson,Daniel Bäckström,Magnus Wetterhall,Rolf Danielsson,Jonas Bergquist +5 more
TL;DR: In this study, a screening experiment of biomarkers of two different kinds of appendicitis, gangrenous and phlegmonous, were conducted with CE and CEC coupled to MS, finding indicative patterns for both pre‐ and post‐surgery of the two types of inflammation.
Journal ArticleDOI
First-degree relatives of cancer patients: a target group for primary prevention? A cross-sectional study.
TL;DR: Given the increased risk perception and motivation to change an unhealthy lifestyle, this study provides a strong rationale for research on the effectiveness of lifestyle interventions in cancer patients’ relatives.
