Journal ArticleDOI
Wnt signaling in bone formation and its therapeutic potential for bone diseases
Jeong Hwan Kim,Xing Liu,Jinhua Wang,Xiang Chen,Hongyu Zhang,Stephanie H. Kim,Jing Cui,Ruidong Li,Wenwen Zhang,Yuhan Kong,Jiye Zhang,Wei Shui,Joseph D. Lamplot,Mary Rose Rogers,Chen Zhao,Ning Wang,Prashant Rajan,Justin Tomal,Joseph Statz,Ningning Wu,Hue H. Luu,Rex C. Haydon,Tong-Chuan He +22 more
TL;DR: The present review discusses the role of the Wnt signaling pathway in osteogenesis and examines its targeted therapeutic potential and indicates it requires cautious approach due to risks of tumorigenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Phosphorylation and processing of the quorum-sensing molecule autoinducer-2 in enteric bacteria.
Karina B. Xavier,Stephen T. Miller,Wenyun Lu,Jeong Hwan Kim,Joshua D. Rabinowitz,István Pelczer,Martin F. Semmelhack,Bonnie L. Bassler,Bonnie L. Bassler +8 more
TL;DR: It is shown that following internalization, the kinase LsrK phosphorylates carbon-5 of the open form of DPD, and Phosphorylated DPD binds specifically to the repressor of the lsr operon, LsrR, consistent with P-DPD being the inducer of the LSR operon.
Journal ArticleDOI
Psychological Distress and Subsequent Cardiovascular Events in Individuals With Coronary Artery Disease.
Pratik Pimple,Bruno B Lima,Muhammad Hammadah,Kobina Wilmot,Ronnie Ramadan,Oleksiy Levantsevych,Samaah Sullivan,Jeong Hwan Kim,Belal Kaseer,Amit J. Shah,Laura Ward,Paolo Raggi,J. Douglas Bremner,John Hanfelt,Tené T. Lewis,Arshed A. Quyyumi,Viola Vaccarino +16 more
TL;DR: Among patients with coronary artery disease, higher psychological distress is associated with future cardiovascular events in women only, and no such association was found in men.
Journal ArticleDOI
Association of Transient Endothelial Dysfunction Induced by Mental Stress With Major Adverse Cardiovascular Events in Men and Women With Coronary Artery Disease.
Bruno B Lima,Muhammad Hammadah,Jeong Hwan Kim,Irina Uphoff,Amit J. Shah,Amit J. Shah,Oleksiy Levantsevych,Zakaria Almuwaqqat,Kasra Moazzami,Samaah Sullivan,Laura Ward,Michael Kutner,Yi-An Ko,David S. Sheps,David S. Sheps,J. Douglas Bremner,J. Douglas Bremner,Arshed A. Quyyumi,Viola Vaccarino +18 more
TL;DR: In this study, transient endothelial dysfunction with mental stress was associated with adverse cardiovascular outcomes in patients with coronary artery disease, and endothelial responses to stress represent a possible mechanism through which psychological stress may affect outcomes in Patients with coronary arteries disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Living in Food Deserts and Adverse Cardiovascular Outcomes in Patients With Cardiovascular Disease.
Heval M. Kelli,Jeong Hwan Kim,Ayman Samman Tahhan,Chang Liu,Yi-An Ko,Muhammad Hammadah,Samaah Sullivan,Pratik B. Sandesara,Ayman Alkhoder,Fahad Choudhary,M. Mazen Gafeer,Keyur Patel,Saqib Qadir,Tené T. Lewis,Viola Vaccarino,Laurence S. Sperling,Arshed A. Quyyumi +16 more
TL;DR: Living in an FD is associated with a higher risk of adverse cardiovascular events in those with coronary artery disease and low area income of FDs, not poor access to food, was significantly associated with worse outcomes.
