The CMS experiment at the CERN LHC

S. Chatrchyan, +3175 more
TL;DR: The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN as mentioned in this paper was designed to study proton-proton (and lead-lead) collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 14 TeV (5.5 TeV nucleon-nucleon) and at luminosities up to 10(34)cm(-2)s(-1)
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental evidence for a light and broad scalar resonance in D(+) --> pi(-)pi(+)pi(+) decay.

TL;DR: Using a coherent amplitude analysis to fit the Dalitz plot of these decays, strong evidence is found that a scalar resonance of mass 478(+24)(-23) +/- 17 MeV/c(2) and width 324(+42)(-40) +/- 21 MeV/(-0.0026) accounts for approximately half of all decays.
Journal ArticleDOI

Direct measurement of the pion valence quark momentum distribution, the pion light-cone wave function squared

TL;DR: The results show that the /q&q> light-cone asymptotic wave function describes the data well for Q2 approximately 10 (GeV/c)(2) or more.
Journal ArticleDOI

Measurement of the $W$ boson mass

V. M. Abazov, +502 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the W boson mass in W − ev decays was measured using 1 fb^-1 of data collected with the D0 detector during Run II of the Fermilab Tevatron collider.
