Guidelines for the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy

Daniel J. Klionsky, +1287 more
- 01 Apr 2012 -
TL;DR: These guidelines are presented for the selection and interpretation of methods for use by investigators who aim to examine macroautophagy and related processes, as well as for reviewers who need to provide realistic and reasonable critiques of papers that are focused on these processes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Atg8 family LC3/GABARAP proteins are crucial for autophagosome–lysosome fusion but not autophagosome formation during PINK1/Parkin mitophagy and starvation

TL;DR: CRISPR/Cas9-generated knockouts of the LC3 or GABARAP subfamilies are exploited to show that Atg8s are dispensable for autophagosome biogenesis but essential for autphagosome–lysosome fusion.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization of the Role of the Rab GTPase-activating Protein AS160 in Insulin-regulated GLUT4 Trafficking

TL;DR: Findings support an important role for AS160 in the insulin regulated trafficking of GLUT4, which is mediated by the cytosolic tail of insulin-regulated aminopeptidase which interacted both in vitro and in vivo with AS160.
