Differential Promotion of Glutamate Transporter Expression and Function by Glucocorticoids in Astrocytes from Various Brain Regions

TL;DR: A potential role for glucocorticoids in regulating GLT-1 gene expression during central nervous system development or pathophysiogical processes including stress is highlighted.

Valproate and Amitriptyline Exert Common and Divergent Influences on Global and Gene Promoter-Specific Chromatin Modifications in Rat Primary Astrocytes

TL;DR: VPA and AMI globally exerted chromatin-modulating activities using different mechanisms that divergently precipitated at an astroglial gene locus, and it is shown that these changes were associated with an enhanced transcription of this astrocyte-specific gene.
