Guidelines for the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy

Daniel J. Klionsky, +1287 more
- 01 Apr 2012 -
TL;DR: These guidelines are presented for the selection and interpretation of methods for use by investigators who aim to examine macroautophagy and related processes, as well as for reviewers who need to provide realistic and reasonable critiques of papers that are focused on these processes.
Journal ArticleDOI

IL-10, an inflammatory/inhibitory cytokine, but not always.

TL;DR: It is reported for the first time that IL-10 fails to inhibit tryptase and IL-6 from human mast cell-1 and human umbilical cord blood-derived mast cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chemokines, sTNF-Rs and sCD30 serum levels in healthy aged people and centenarians.

TL;DR: It is hypothesized that the increased chemokine levels in aged people, and raised sCD30 levels in centenarians, may reflect a general shift towards type 0/2 cytokines in normal aging, which may be responsible, at least in part, for the appearance of circulating autoantibodies without definite clinical consequences at advanced age.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cytotoxicity and Genotoxicity of Ceria Nanoparticles on Different Cell Lines in Vitro

TL;DR: Investigating the effects of short-term and long-term CeO2-NP exposure to A549, CaCo2 and HepG2 cell lines confirmed the ceria nanoparticles’ capacity to protect cells when they are exposed to well-known oxidants such as H2O2.
