Guidelines for the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy

Daniel J. Klionsky, +1287 more
- 01 Apr 2012 -
TL;DR: These guidelines are presented for the selection and interpretation of methods for use by investigators who aim to examine macroautophagy and related processes, as well as for reviewers who need to provide realistic and reasonable critiques of papers that are focused on these processes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Two physically, functionally, and developmentally distinct peritoneal macrophage subsets

TL;DR: A new context is introduced for interpreting (and reinterpreting) data from ex vivo studies with PerC MØ diversity, development, and function, as both subsets show clear phagocytic activity and both produce nitric oxide in response to LPS stimulation in vivo.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pattern Recognition Receptors and the Host Cell Death Molecular Machinery

TL;DR: Some aspects of the molecular interplay between the cell death machinery and signals initiated by the activation of PRRs by PAMPs and DAMPs are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Regulatory T Cells Accumulate in the Lung Allergic Inflammation and Efficiently Suppress T-Cell Proliferation but Not Th2 Cytokine Production

TL;DR: Foxp3+CD25+CD4+ regulatory T cells are vital for peripheral tolerance and control of tissue inflammation and expressed an effector/memory phenotype that distinguished them from naive Regulatory T cells (CCR4intCD62LlowCD44highCD54highCD69−), which efficiently suppressed pulmonary T-cell proliferation but not Th2 cytokine production.
