Guidelines for the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy

Daniel J. Klionsky, +1287 more
- 01 Apr 2012 -
TL;DR: These guidelines are presented for the selection and interpretation of methods for use by investigators who aim to examine macroautophagy and related processes, as well as for reviewers who need to provide realistic and reasonable critiques of papers that are focused on these processes.
Journal ArticleDOI

PD-L1 interacts with Frizzled 6 to activate β-catenin and form a positive feedback loop to promote cancer stem cell expansion

TL;DR: It is reported here that programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) is constitutively expressed in cancer cells to maintain and expand CSC through a novel mechanism in addition to promoting cancer cell immune evasion.
Journal ArticleDOI

Exosomal circPRRX1 functions as a ceRNA for miR-596 to promote the proliferation, migration, invasion, and reduce radiation sensitivity of gastric cancer cells via the upregulation of NF-κB activating protein

TL;DR: A new mechanism, the exosomal circPRRX1/miR-596/NKAP ceRNA crosstalk, is suggested in regulating gastric tumorigenesis and radiation sensitivity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lung cancer growth inhibition and autophagy activation by tetrazole via ERK1/2 up-regulation and mTOR/p70S6K signaling down-regulation.

TL;DR: Tetrazole manifested anti-proliferative effect on lung cancer cells via autophagy over-activation and arrest of cell cycle and it deactivated ERK1/2 signalling and promoted mTOR signaling in A549 and NCI-H1819 cells to regulate cancer proliferation.
