Guidelines for the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy (3rd edition)

Daniel J. Klionsky, +2522 more
- 21 Jan 2016 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a set of guidelines for the selection and interpretation of methods for use by investigators who aim to examine macro-autophagy and related processes, as well as for reviewers who need to provide realistic and reasonable critiques of papers that are focused on these processes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Elevated expression of microRNAs 155, 203, 210 and 222 in pancreatic tumors is associated with poorer survival

TL;DR: This study provides the first evidence for an oncogenic activity ofmiR‐155, miR‐203, miM‐210 and miR-222 in the development of pancreatic cancer as has been reported for other tumor types.
Journal ArticleDOI

Omeprazole Inhibits Proliferation and Modulates Autophagy in Pancreatic Cancer Cells

TL;DR: It is hypothesised that omeprazole interacts with the regulatory functions of the vATPase without inhibiting its pump function and a modulation of the lysosomal transport pathway and autophagy is caused in pancreatic cancer cells leading to programmed cell death.
Journal ArticleDOI

Current diagnostics and treatment of fibrosarcoma -perspectives for future therapeutic targets and strategies.

TL;DR: Some promising new directions in fibrosarcoma research are discussed, specifically focusing on more effective targeting of the tumour microenvironment, which plays a crucial role in cancer progression, invasion, metastasis and chemosensitivity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Risk factors, short and long term outcome of anastomotic leaks in rectal cancer

TL;DR: Patients with AL had a significantly worse OS in this study, mainly due to an increased in hospital mortality, and DFS was also negatively affected by AL whereas local relapse was not.
