Guidelines for the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy (3rd edition)

Daniel J. Klionsky, +2522 more
- 21 Jan 2016 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a set of guidelines for the selection and interpretation of methods for use by investigators who aim to examine macro-autophagy and related processes, as well as for reviewers who need to provide realistic and reasonable critiques of papers that are focused on these processes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antiproliferative effects of crocin in HepG2 cells by telomerase inhibition and hTERT down-regulation.

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of crocin on the immortality of hepatic cancer cells was investigated through quantification of relative telomerase activity with a quantitative real-time PCR-based Telomerase repeat amplification protocol (qTRAP).

Transcriptional down regulation of hTERT and senescence induction in HepG2 cells by chelidonine.

TL;DR: Senescence induction might not be directly caused by reducing telomerase activity as it occurs after a few population doublings, and chelidonine reduces telomersase activity through down-regulation of hTERT expression.
