Guidelines for the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy (3rd edition)

Daniel J. Klionsky, +2522 more
- 21 Jan 2016 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a set of guidelines for the selection and interpretation of methods for use by investigators who aim to examine macro-autophagy and related processes, as well as for reviewers who need to provide realistic and reasonable critiques of papers that are focused on these processes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Size and dose dependent effects of silver nanoparticle exposure on intestinal permeability in an in vitro model of the human gut epithelium

TL;DR: Small-size AgNP have significant effects on intestinal permeability in an in vitro model of the human gastrointestinal epithelium, which has the potential to compromise the integrity of the intestinal epithelia and this disruption of barrier function could have health consequences for the gastrointestinal tract.

Journal ArticleDOI

Dose and Size-Dependent Antiviral Effects of Silver Nanoparticles on Feline Calicivirus, a Human Norovirus Surrogate

TL;DR: The results demonstrate that the antiviral effects of AgNPs are both size and dose dependent, thus potential applications ofAgNPs as antiviral agents to prevent contamination of foodborne viruses need to consider size and doses effects.
