Guidelines for the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy (3rd edition)

Daniel J. Klionsky, +2522 more
- 21 Jan 2016 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a set of guidelines for the selection and interpretation of methods for use by investigators who aim to examine macro-autophagy and related processes, as well as for reviewers who need to provide realistic and reasonable critiques of papers that are focused on these processes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Positive crosstalk between arginase-II and S6K1 in vascular endothelial inflammation and aging

TL;DR: A novel mechanism of mutual positive regulation between S6K1 and Arg‐II in endothelial inflammation and aging is revealed and may decelerate vascular aging and age‐associated cardiovascular disease development.
Journal ArticleDOI

ARG2 impairs endothelial autophagy through regulation of MTOR and PRKAA/AMPK signaling in advanced atherosclerosis.

TL;DR: It is shown that overexpression of ARG2 in the young cells suppresses endothelial autophagy with concomitant enhanced expression of RICTOR, the essential component of the MTORC2 complex, leading to activation of the AKT-MTORC1-RPS6KB1/S6K1 cascade and inhibition of PRKAA/AMPK.
