Guidelines for the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy (3rd edition)

Daniel J. Klionsky, +2522 more
- 21 Jan 2016 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a set of guidelines for the selection and interpretation of methods for use by investigators who aim to examine macro-autophagy and related processes, as well as for reviewers who need to provide realistic and reasonable critiques of papers that are focused on these processes.

Journal ArticleDOI

HTLV-1 Tax Is a Critical Lipid Raft Modulator That Hijacks IκB Kinases to the Microdomains for Persistent Activation of NF-κB

TL;DR: Findings indicate that Tax1 actively recruits IKK to the lipid raft microdomains for persistent activation of NF-κB, thereby contributing to HTLV-1 oncogenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI

HTLV-1 Tax deregulates autophagy by recruiting autophagic molecules into lipid raft microdomains.

TL;DR: It is reported that Tax is a determining factor for dysregulation of autophagy in HTLV-1-transformed T cells and Tax-immortalized CD4 memory T cells, indicating a critical role of Tax-deregulated autophagosomes in promoting survival and transformation of virally infected T cells.
