Guidelines for the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy (3rd edition)

Daniel J. Klionsky, +2522 more
- 21 Jan 2016 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a set of guidelines for the selection and interpretation of methods for use by investigators who aim to examine macro-autophagy and related processes, as well as for reviewers who need to provide realistic and reasonable critiques of papers that are focused on these processes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Inactivation of Escherichia coli, Listeria innocua and Saccharomyces cerevisiae by UV-C light: Study of cell injury by flow cytometry

TL;DR: The results showed that mechanisms of cellular damage differed according to time of exposure to ultraviolet radiation and the organism tested, and FCM was used to detect the inactivation of those L. innocua sub-populations of viable microorganisms which were non-culturable due to membrane rupture and thus not detectable by viable plate count technique.
Journal ArticleDOI

Inhibition of NF-κB activity by BAY 11-7082 increases apoptosis in multidrug resistant leukemic T-cell lines

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of BAY 11-7082 on the expression of genes containing NF-kappaB-binding sites was also studied, and it was shown that suppression of constitutive NFappaB activity may be a useful treatment for MDR leukemias.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hyaluronan oligosaccharides sensitize lymphoma resistant cell lines to vincristine by modulating P‐glycoprotein activity and PI3K/Akt pathway

TL;DR: It is reported for the first time that oHA per se modulate MDR in lymphoma cells by decreasing p‐Akt as well as Pgp activity, thus suggesting that o HA could be useful in combination with classical chemotherapy in MDR hematological malignancies.
