Guidelines for the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy (3rd edition)

Daniel J. Klionsky, +2522 more
- 21 Jan 2016 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a set of guidelines for the selection and interpretation of methods for use by investigators who aim to examine macro-autophagy and related processes, as well as for reviewers who need to provide realistic and reasonable critiques of papers that are focused on these processes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Vimentin filament organization and stress sensing depend on its single cysteine residue and zinc binding

TL;DR: It is shown that zinc transport-deficient human fibroblasts show increased vimentin solubility and susceptibility to disruption, which are restored by zinc supplementation, and new perspectives for the regulation of intermediate filaments by zinc are opened.
Journal ArticleDOI

Vimentin as a Multifaceted Player and Potential Therapeutic Target in Viral Infections.

TL;DR: A perspective on approaches to target vimentin, including antibodies or chemical agents that could modulate these interactions to potentially interfere with viral pathogenesis, which could be useful when multi-target antiviral strategies are needed.

Protein lipoxidation: Detection strategies and challenges

TL;DR: An update on methods to approach the complex field of lipoxidation along with validation strategies and functional assays illustrated with well-studied lipoxidized proteins or peptides is presented.
