Guidelines for the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy (3rd edition)

Daniel J. Klionsky, +2522 more
- 21 Jan 2016 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a set of guidelines for the selection and interpretation of methods for use by investigators who aim to examine macro-autophagy and related processes, as well as for reviewers who need to provide realistic and reasonable critiques of papers that are focused on these processes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Exosome secretion, including the DNA damage-induced p53-dependent secretory pathway, is severely compromised in TSAP6/Steap3-null mice

TL;DR: The results presented here provide the first genetic demonstration that exosome formation is a tightly controlled biological process dependent of TSAP6, and it is shown that the DNA damage-induced p53-dependent nonclassical exosomal secretory pathway is abrogated in TSAP 6-null cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

EVpedia: a community web portal for extracellular vesicles research

Dae-Kyum Kim, +97 more
- 15 Mar 2015 -
TL;DR: An improved version of EVpedia, a public database for EVs research, is presented, which contains a database of publications and vesicular components, identification of orthologous vesicle components, bioinformatic tools and a personalized function.
Journal ArticleDOI

Galectin-5 is bound onto the surface of rat reticulocyte exosomes and modulates vesicle uptake by macrophages

TL;DR: It is revealed that the uptake of rat reticulocyte exosomes by macrophages is dependent on temperature and the mechanoenzyme dynamin and that exosome uptake is decreased by adding galectin-5, implying galectIn-5 functionality in the exosomal sorting pathway during rat retICulocyte maturation.

EVpedia: A community web portal for extracellular vesicles research

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present an improved version of EVpedia, a public database for extracellular vesicles (EVs) research, which contains a database of publications and vesicular components, identification of orthologous vesicle components, bioinformatic tools and a personalized function.
