Guidelines for the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy (3rd edition)

Daniel J. Klionsky, +2522 more
- 21 Jan 2016 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a set of guidelines for the selection and interpretation of methods for use by investigators who aim to examine macro-autophagy and related processes, as well as for reviewers who need to provide realistic and reasonable critiques of papers that are focused on these processes.
Journal ArticleDOI

NCOA4 Deficiency Impairs Systemic Iron Homeostasis.

TL;DR: It is shown that NCOA4 deficiency in a knockout mouse model causes iron accumulation in the liver and spleen, increased levels of transferrin saturation, serum ferritin, and liver hepcidin, etc, and decreased levels of duodenal ferroportin.
Journal ArticleDOI

MAPK15/ERK8 stimulates autophagy by interacting with LC3 and GABARAP proteins

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that MAPK15 is indeed localized to autophagic compartments and increased, in a kinase-dependent fashion, ATG8-like proteins lipidation, autophagosome formation and SQSTM1 degradation, while decreasing LC3B inhibitory phosphorylation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Aptamer Functionalization of Nanosystems for Glioblastoma Targeting through the Blood-Brain Barrier

TL;DR: Gint4.T-conjugated PNPs able of high uptake into U87MG glioblastoma cells and with astonishing EC50 value (38 pM) when loaded with a PI3K-mTOR inhibitor are synthesized.
