Guidelines for the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy (3rd edition)

Daniel J. Klionsky, +2522 more
- 21 Jan 2016 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a set of guidelines for the selection and interpretation of methods for use by investigators who aim to examine macro-autophagy and related processes, as well as for reviewers who need to provide realistic and reasonable critiques of papers that are focused on these processes.
Journal ArticleDOI

The ATF6 branch of unfolded protein response and apoptosis are activated to promote African swine fever virus infection.

TL;DR: The capacity of ASFV to regulate the UPR may prevent early apoptosis and ensure viral replication.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influenza virus mRNA trafficking through host nuclear speckles.

TL;DR: It is shown that the influenza virus uses nuclear speckles to promote post-transcriptional splicing of its M1 mRNA, and previously unknown roles for the viral NS1 protein and cellular factors are assigned to an intranuclear trafficking pathway.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influenza virus differentially activates mTORC1 and mTORC2 signaling to maximize late stage replication.

TL;DR: It is shown that mTORC2 and PDPK1 differentially phosphorylate AKT upon influenza virus infection, and the observed effects on viral protein expression likely support the late stages of influenza virus replication when infected cells undergo significant stress.
