Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi trigger danger-associated peptide signaling and inhibit carbon-phosphorus exchange with nonhost plants.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors show that mycorrhizal fungi can colonize an individually grown non-host plant, Arabidopsis thaliana, and suppress the growth of two nonhost Brassica crops.
